March 2026 WBA WMU NEWSLETTER

A great big thank you to all the 75+ ladies and the young girls who attended the Multi-Generation Tea Party that was held at Jamestown Baptist Church on February 21. This was a celebration of Focus on WMU. We were honored by having as guest speaker Abigail Gaskins who was an IMB missionary that served as a 2yr Journeyman in Central Asia. Abigail attended GA’s & Youth then was inspired to become a missionary through the leadership of WMU Leaders while attending North Conway Baptist Church in Conway, SC. This is why it is important for children to begin early in being involved in missions’ education.

Beginning March 1-8 is the Season of Prayer for North America Missions, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. This involves mission study, prayer and offering. These funds support missionaries and allow them to reach people with the saving message of Jesus Christ. This offering supports the missionaries to start up churches where there isn't a church present in some areas. They have the opportunity to reach people who maybe have never heard the gospel. Some missionaries have the opportunity to reach out beyond the borders of the United States with the help of the North American Mission Board and their partners.

What Joy! As we continue our 2025-26 emphasis for WMU. We have the opportunity to attend the 2026 SC WMU Missions Encounter and Annual Meeting. It is to be held on March 20-21 in Charleston SC at Pinecrest Baptist Church. You can now go online and register at www.scwmu/goboldly. You will be joining hundreds of women. The theme is GO Boldly: Ephesians 6:19-20, which says, “19. and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20. for which I am an ambassador in chains: that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

With Spring right around the corner, Camp LaVida is looking for summer camp staffers. If you have any college students or high school seniors who have a heart for missions and pouring into young girls, Camp LaVida is hiring for this summertime. Visit www.camplavida.org for info to apply & 2026 camp registration. There will be a workday on April 25, to get camp ready for the coming season, register at the same place.

The WBA WMU annual Spring meeting will be held April 13 at Maple Baptist Church, 4500 Hwy 65, Conway, SC. We will be having Jess Archer SCWMU Executive Director-Treasurer as the guest speaker. Madison Davis a North Greenville College graduate who went on to be a 2yr Journeyman with IMB. I hope everyone will make
an effort to attend as we are fortunate to have them attend our spring meeting.

The WBA WMU Leadership team will be voted in at this meeting. There will be a meal at 5:30 ($5 chg. at the door) and the meeting will begin at 6:15-8pm. Please RSVP by April 7th at 843 248-9358 or email admin@wbasc.org to reserve meals and seating.
