WBA WMU October 2026 Newsletter
Welcome to the beautiful, colorful time of the year when the leaves and landscape change colors to project the beautiful awareness of the Fall season for the Carolinas. Businesses and homes around are decorated for the Fall Follies. The beginning of the new church year is a great time for enlisting new candidates for WMU organizations. We have groups for all ages! Mission Friends: 4-5 yrs old, CA’s: 1st - 6th grade boys & girls, GA’s: 1st - 6th grade girls, RA’s: 1st - 6th grade boys, Older RA boys 7th - 12th grade, Youth on Mission: 7th - 12th grade boys & girls, Acteens: girls 7th - 12 grade, myMISSION: women 18-34yrs. Older adults we offer Women on Mission (WOM): women 18yrs plus and Adults on Mission (AOM) includes women & men 18yrs plus. These are just guidelines from the state WMU to churches for age groups especially for the adult groups.
You will find enclosed in this update guidelines for items for Prison Packets. This year we are offering a list for our local Inmates at J. Ruben Long Facility. It is different from packets going to the SC State Facility for inmates. Please, we have obligated 300 packets to go to the SC State Facility. Please, when your packets are delivered to the WBA OFFICE make sure they are designated for the SC State Facility or J. Ruben Long Facility. There is a slight difference in some items. Please, refer to the list for the correct items of the facility you chose to prepare packets for. Please, only include the exact items that are requested for each facility. If each church examines their bags closely that will be extremely helpful. If you have any questions, please contact WBA Office at 843-248-9358 or Vickie Matthews at 843-855-5080.

It’s that time again! We invite our churches to join us in sharing the love of Jesus through our annual Prisoner Packet Collection.
The South Carolina Department of Corrections has asked the Waccamaw Baptist Association to provide 300 prisoner packets to help meet their needs. Together, we can make a difference!

Important Reminder: Please include a note with your bags indicating which of the two facilities the packets are intended for. This will help us make sure they reach the correct destination.
